In November, 2005 We were Pleased to Present: Dr. Paul Maier
Last year to
highlight our membership drive, we invited Dr. Paul Maier, a
world-renowned Bible Scholar and author, to join us as our second
anniversary in this location. He was with us November 9, 2005
starting with "Coffee with the Author" at 9:30 a.m. All were
invited to meet him and have him sign books if desired. At 1:15 he
lectured at the "Sanctuary on the Square" which is across the park
from our museum. Professor Maier is the Russell H. Seibert
Professor of Ancient History at Western Michigan University and an
internationally recognized scholar in the field of early Christian
studies. Dr. Maier lectures widely, appears frequently on national
radio and television, and has authored or edited many scholarly
books and articles as well as historical novels. Special
thanks to: Collierville Hampton Inn, Collierville United Methodist
Church, Kelsey Coffee, Seasons at the White Church Restaurant and
Collierville Chamber of Commerce.

BRCM Director, John Green presents Bibles to a volunteer at the
Collierville Food Pantry |
Bibles For Food
Baskets
|
This holiday season, the Biblical Resource Center and
Museum will again partner with the Collierville Food
Pantry to provide food for the body and the soul.
The center will donate more than three dozen Bibles to be
placed in the Pantry's packed food baskets. Don Bassett,
chairman and CEO of the Biblical Museum said, "We are very
pleased to add a copy of the world's most comforting and
encouraging book to each of these baskets being prepared
by our good neighbors at the Collierville Food Pantry".
The pantry, located at 167 Washington Street in
Collierville provides food baskets to those living in any
area of East Shelby county who are having an emergency or
hardship making it difficult to purchase enough food.
Also elderly or disabled persons with a low family income
may come for baskets.
