Don Bassett, Chairman of the
Biblical Resource Center and Museum, has studied and traveled
extensively in Bible
lands as well as to museums in Europe, the Middle East, and the United
States in pursuit of his interest in historical and archaeological
backgrounds of the Bible.
He studied Biblical archaeology
in Israel as part of his master's degree program in religious
studies from Harding University
Graduate School of Religion, Memphis. Bassett received
his undergraduate degrees from Florida College and a degree
with
honors in history from the University of South Florida, Tampa.
He has studied biblical and classical languages at Western
Kentucky University, Hebrew Union College, University of
Cincinnati, Ohio, and Roman history at the University
of Memphis.
Prior to becoming full-time
Chairman of the Biblical Resource Center, Bassett completed
35 years of service
in local church
ministry, serving most recently with the Brentwood
Church of Christ in Brentwood, Tennessee.
Bassett is the author of two books on family
Bible instruction, The Daily Family Bible Reader
Vol. I: Survey of the Bible's
Account and The Daily Family Bible Reader II: The Epistles
of the New Testament. He is author of two adult Bible
study books, Simple Studies in the New Testament:
1 and 2 Timothy
and Titus, and Simple Studies in the New Testament: 1
and 2 Corinthians. Bassett has developed church libraries
and
six-year
adult Bible class curricula for churches in Kentucky
and Tennessee, as well as developing comprehensive instructional
materials
for churches on historical backgrounds of the Bible. |
