NATIVITY EXHIBIT

Come and see Peace on Earth from Around the World, our special exhibit of Nativity scenes featuring unique and rare pieces created by artists from around the world over the last three centuries. This exhibit is on display exclusively at the Museum of Biblical History . 

Admission is a recommended donation of $3.00 for ages five and up.  

The exhibit runs from November 15, 2011 through January 14, 2012 during our normal hours, Tuesday - Saturday, 10 AM - 5 PM.

THE ENDURING WORD


A special exhibit honoring the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible will be on display in our main gallery from October 1 - 9, 2011. The exhibit showcases a collection of original early English Bibles and related artifacts that illustrate the history of the Bible in the  English language leading up to the publication of the Authorized Version in 1611. The exhibit also features a full scale, working model of the Gutenberg Press.

Admission to the exhibit is free and open to the public during our special extended hours for these nine days only.

THE SAINT JOHN’S BIBLE PRINT EXHIBITION
A special exhibit featuring samples of art from The Saint John’s Bible is on display  through July 31, 2011.

Our annual archaeology workshop for students entering grades 5 - 12 will be held July 18 - 21, 2011. We will be exploring some of our favorite sites in ancient Egypt. An application and brochure will be available online soon.

HOLIDAY HOURS
Our Nativity exhibit, Peace on Earth from Around the World will be on display through the holiday season, until Saturday, January 15th, 2011. 

The museum will be open on Christmas Eve from 10 AM until 1:00 PM.

We will be closed on Christmas Day and resume our regular hours on Tuesday, December 28th, 2010. 

We will be open regular hours on New Year’s Eve.

MUMMIES AND MEDICINE
We will repeat the program Mummies and Medicine this coming Saturday, April 17, 2010. Mummies and Medicine  is part of our ongoing series of Saturday programs for elementary age children featuring different topics about ancient Egypt. 

Programs are from 1:00 - 2:00 and are free and open to the public. 

Parents are welcome to attend with their children.

SILENT AUCTION & RECEPTION
We hope you will join us for our annual year-end reception on Thursday, December 10th from 6-9 P.M., featuring appetizers from Fino Villa and silent auction items from local and out of town shops, hotels, and service providers. The auction will open on Tuesday, December 8th, and will remain open throughout business hours on Wednesday and Thursday. Last chance bidding will close at 7:30 P.M. on the night of the reception.

THE SOLDIER’S BIBLE
On October 23, 2009, a temporary exhibit will open featuring a collection of Bibles belonging to Civil War soldiers. Bibles on loan from the Carter House Museum located on the Civil War Battlefield in Franklin, TN will be featured as well as heirloom Bibles from private collections, including the “pocket Bibles,” which were commonly carried into battle by soldiers on both sides of the conflict.  The exhibit will run through the end of the year.
